Re: me-222 use with African clawed frogs

It would seem that anesthetizing the frog would make the procedure much easier for all involved.

me-222 use with African clawed frogs

I have 2 ACFs with soft bloat, one is rather extreme now. The other 4 frogs in the tank do not have bloat. I've tried Epsom salt bathes without any improvement. I am now considering aspiration...

Why not put a sponge over the intake of your hob filter?

    Re: Sand in ACF Tank

I have sand in my frog tank. Waste generally stays on top of the sand and is easily removed by siphoning or netting. I agree a bare bottom tank is not aesthetically pleasing.
    Sand can ruin...

    Riparian?

I upgraded my ACFs from a 40 gal breeder tank to a standard 75 gal tank this past fall. Tried to post some pics in another thread but couldn't get it to work. Anyway, I have been thinking about...

    Tank upgrade

Recently upgraded the tank for the frogs. I have 7: 3 albinos and 4 pigmented. They were previously living in a 40 gal breeder tank but are now in a 75 gal tank.

    Re: ACF Injury

Does look the same, or even spreading. Could this be a virus of some sort? Where antibiotics wouldn't work.

    X2.
I have river sand in my frog tank now, but will most likely be changing it to Caribsea Sunset Gold sand here in the near future when I upgrade their tank.

Sticky: Re: Post photos of your African Clawed Frog Set up

You will need a larger tank soon. A 20 gal long would be good for awhile. Skip the river rock substrate and go with a sand substrate. I would also recommend a filter. Make sure you have a good...

I did a water change on the frog tank the other day. As soon as I opened the lid on the tank, my biggest acf came flying out like a bullet out the end of a barrel. By the time I realized what...
  24. Re: Does anyone know if I need to cycle a tank for ACF's

Using the water and plants from the 10 gal will help. You can also transfer the substrate and filter material from the 10 gal. A 40 breeder is a good size tank for your frogs.
