My neighbor brought over a very tiny American tree frog he found on the job. As I was looking in the temp viv my cat spooked the fellow and it hopped over my shoulder. I am carefully looking around...
They look great! I've been in between green tree frogs and white's. I think I'll go with white's, they are so attractive.
Great pics!
Thanks all! This is good news. I figured it just to be the difference between the sexes, as everyone seems healthy ;)

I was at a point where I was very frustrated with my feeders; crickets. Luckily I had a wonderful roach suggestion by Matt.
Not only was there a suggestion, but he helped me get started on these...
Here's photos of all four mid-tank cleaning

Perhaps this is gender, because the ones who are thinner tend to amplex the others. However, I'm a bit concerned with some that look slimmer. I tong feed them on a schedule regularly with gutloaded...
Mine are all good eaters. One of mine seems to love worms, hopping from one corner to the other at the sight of tongs. It's amazing how quickly they build associations.
I will probably not do...
I was wondering if decapitated meal worms would be a good food option. I have a bunch lying around for my true spider, but want to make sure it's safe.

Oh yes, the obnoxious mites. I would say they are on the more adult end of juveniles.
I just found out one is a Fowler's/American toad hybrid, but I am pretty sure the husbandry is the same.
I...
I know there can be hybrids between the two. Would it be safe to house the two together? I'm fairly sure both of mine are American, but one makes me wonder.
I currently have my two American toads in a large sweater box with lots of substrate, fake plants, a hide out, and a soaking dish. In addition to that I mist about two times a day.
I have read care...
Good to hear! My little FBTs have the best feeding response next to some of my arachnids, but I think when these two "warm up" to me they may enter the competition.
So far I have found they are...
Also, I was intending on keeping them on eco earth, but I was wondering, would aspen shavings be okay? I have a corn snake and have some extra laying around. Just wondering since it would be an...
Nothing to special, just two American toads. Right now they are in a very basic set up, but I'm planning a nice viv;)

Some additional concern. The yawning has stopped but he seems to be more lethargic than the others. He's still eating and calling, but I am concerned:(

Hah thanks my girlfriend picked it out. My two ACFs out grew it so they just tend to kick it down now more.
I have noticed these similarities and differences. They certainly recognize and get...
I have not tried yet, but that sounds pretty cute. My two have really nice appetites, but maybe that's a pipadae thing.

You'll find out when the barking and amplexing start. ;)

Good to know. My ACFs do this but with more dramatics haha

They look great! I love how active and curious they are.

Is this common? I have not seen it with my other ones, but during a shed one of my frogs kept yawning and scratching then went back to normal behavior.

Yeah. I did an extra feeding dusted with a multivitamin just for safe measures
But they are amazing creatures! Always so active or up to something. I have found them in the strangest positions...
I didn't seperate him out, because shortly after eating he was back up to bouncing around his enclosure. Luckily there were no health issues and everyone is as happy as a frog ;)
For their age, a whole worm is probably fine. My two aren't fully grown, but have been downing whole ones for a few months now. You might be surprised at what they can do!
