Re: Please help identify this frog

Could be a cuban tree frog, probably not compatible with the anole, they eat everything that might possibly fit in their mouth.

Re: Frogs are hiding in new enclosure!

Excellent news! I have some cuban tree frogs I've been raising from tadpoles. 5 are little frogs now, and 4 are still tadpoles. I'm going to have to find homes for a few as they grow up, or just...

Re: Frogs are hiding in new enclosure!

Yeah, sounds like something is toxic to them, but I don't know what it would be. I hope they're OK!

Re: Frogs are hiding in new enclosure!

I would think that they're just not used to the place yet. Have they come around since you posted?

    Re: New Tadpoles

2 frogs now! One still has some tail. The light green one is the same one from the above pictures, I'm curious to see their colors develop.

    Re: New Tadpoles

We've got a frog! He hopped out of the water yesterday morning, but vanished in the tank. I finally spotted him again tonight.

With those giant toe pads, reddish eyes and blue bones, I think I...

    Re: New Tadpoles

Thank you! I can't tell if they're happy. But I did learn that tadpoles are boring, lol. Can't wait until they're frogs. That first one looks like he's right about to pop out his front legs. His...

    Re: New Tadpoles

I've had them for almost 2 weeks now. 2 died, I don't know exactly why, but it happened when I was trying to make sure they stayed warm, so I had them in a room with a heater going. It was about 80...

Their vivarium as of now, by the time they go in, hopefully the plants will have grown in more, and there will be more leaves on the ground.

    New Tadpoles

I just got some new tadpoles from someone on ebay from Florida. I think they're cuban tree frogs, the seller just called them tree frog tadpoles, in another ad, there were pictures that looked like...

Re: What to put on top of gravel?

I wouldn't put anything over it. They're not going to swim down and eat the gravel. Mine hangs out in or near the water quite a bit more than my green tree frogs, but they're not really aquatic. ...

Re: Looking to start a FBT habitat

As long as the gravel is too big for your toads to swallow, your setup looks great. River rock works well.
  18. Re: would pea gravel from a hardware store be safe?

I used to use it as fish tank gravel (SO much cheaper!), so I'd say definitely yes.

    Re: fbt tank

Just measure the tank, cut it that big. I think silicone would be the best thing to use to seal it. I have never done it this way though. I just make the land areas out of rocks too big for them...

  22. Re: Adopted Fire Bellies - Only trying to escape?

They're just not used to it, or they're exploring. That tank is so much better than the old one, don't put them back. Fire bellies are so adaptable, they'll get used to it. If you make a pile of...

Re: Long Tank For Tree Frogs?

No, wait, nevermind, that's a 20 high. I have one, I had green tree frogs and pacific chorus frogs in it for a while, they didn't seem to mind it at all. My Fire bellies live in it now. I don't...

Re: Long Tank For Tree Frogs?

Sounds like a 20 long. Not really suitable for tree frogs. Fire bellied toads would love it, though. Or Leopard geckos :).

Re: Help the New guy find the best filter!

I can't help with the filter question, I don't use one, but in a set up like this, I find dubia roaches to make the best feeders. They don't jump so you just put them on a rock island and they stay...
