    Wanted/Trade: Re: Gray treefrog spawn

It might be easier to find your own. It would be illegal in some states to field collect these. If you must have some for a pet and they aren't from your area the pet trade might be the way to go.

  2. Re: Sweet/Genovese Basil, is it okay for American Toads?

This doesn't appear to effect amphibians negatively. Also crickets do not seem to be disoriented with basil.

Re: Do we need to hibernate our toads?

You can just keep them warm all winter. It's difficult to hibernate them. I am in the process of attempting this

Re: HELP! Grey Treefog has Swollen Eye?

Take it to the vet. Honestly that's the best decision to make for the frog.

Can you explain the tank and the condition like humidity and temperature days you feed and everything. You need to take the toad to a vet because it sounds truly sick.

Re: Care for a baby gray tree frog?

They can eat waxworms and small pinhead crickets. Get 1/2 inch banded crickets from Josh's Frogs.

Re: What to feed baby American toads

You could use fruit flies and springtails and flour beetles I think they are called. Checkout Josh's Frogs Insect and feeder section.

Could you send pictures so we can see how big these frogs are? I believe that everyone would be on the same page if they are baby frogs or if they were just young adult tree frogs. We could be a...

  15. Re: Question Regarding North American Species of Frogs & Toads

It depends on how you keep them. Anything not hibernated tops out around 5-12 years. Animals hibernated can live much longer. Toads can make it to 40 years as well as Bullfrogs so there is reason to...

Re: Care for a baby gray tree frog?

If it's a baby you want a critter keeper for sure. The smaller the space the better it can hunt. It would be best to just have a small amount of water at the bottom of the keeper and then get a fake...

No because I think it would be better for you to research frogs and see what species that you want to own first.

    Re: American toad coloration question

I have never seen an American Toad reach 5 inches you should get a picture of one if you can. Also I've never heard of a Hudson Bay toad. Maybe it's just a color morph for that specific region.

I've never seen a regular sized toad that color only the dwarf American toad. The Canadian American toad for a larger part in Canada is said to be the dwarf so maybe you found a spot where some live?...

    Re: Question

Many pond frogs are bad pets. You need more then 90 gallons for bullfrogs. They need a lot of space and they are high-strung so perhaps the green frog would be easier and a better candidate.

  22. Re: First time toad-mom, and I have a TON of questions that I can't seem to find reliable answers to. I'd really appreciate some help!

Having two opposite sex is best and if you have two same sex it's okay to keep them but two males and one female might not be the best idea.
