    Re: Cold frog!

I think your temps sound fine. In my opinion if your close to a 75 - 85 range you're doing good. In the summer and winter I allow for 10 degree swing and haven't had any problems. IE: at the coldest...

    Re: Cold frog!

While I'm no expert on what body temperature a gabf should have it will always be cooler than yours thus always feel cool. If your substrate is 85 degrees I can only imagine your cooking the poor...

    Kalanchoe in a terrarium?

I'm in the process of rebuilding a terrarium for my Pacific chorus frogs and have a plant only terrarium that keeps getting taken over by some Kalanchoe (not sure of the exact species).

    Is there...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

I am rethinking keeping frogs with bettas. I think it is too hard to make sure they both get the proper diet.

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

With the right maintenance and no other fish 4-5 would be what I am personally comfortable with.

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

I would add a few more plants, live or silk (I get paranoid about the sharp edges on most plastic ones). The more they feel like ha safe places to hide the more they will come out.

    I would buy 2...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

In my opinion it is best to feed in tank. Every time they get moved it causes stress. If your filter is sucking up all the food just turn it off for 30 minutes at feeding time.

    If you want to be...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

I have never heard bloodworms cause bloat in African Dwarf Frogs. All things being equal though it doesn't surprise me and adding variety is never a bad idea. I think I'm going to buy some frozen...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

I'm sorry to hear about your betta. For myself I think it would probably be best to do a frog only tank. I think the frogs and the betta would be happier. For a 5 gallon you could easily keep 4-5...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

The frog will find it eventually. They do most of their feeding by smell. Bettas don't generally eat off the bottom. I have 1 that will but it took awhile for him to learn to do so.

    Keep in mind...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

If the ammonia is 0 after about a month your tank can be considered cycled in my opinion. Nothing in your tank is super sensitive so as long as ammonia is near 0 you should be good.

    You will like...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

I personally think their colors look good and see nothing I would worry about on the living one.

I'm sorry for your loss on the other. These little ones get overlooked a lot, they are really fun...

    Re: African Dwarf Frog Death

Bloodworms are actually what I meant to say.

I'm not really an expert here but I suspect the coloration has more to do with temperature and stress levels and it could indicate illness but I don't...

Thanks! I got them at a local Reptile shop called The Serpentarium. I have no idea who bred them though and they won't tell me. I want to find some unrelated girls!

    My Blue White's

Hello, I purchased a couple of juvenile Australian Blue White's Tree Frogs back in March. One was tiny at just about 2", the other was a lovely snowflake just under 3".

    My daughter named them DJ,...

    Re: Always underground

In my very limited experience raising one I found that keeping the substrate just deep enough for them to dig a hole their body depth or a little less is a good compromise. As long the temps, RH,...

Re: How do you make a rock waterfall?

Ha haa I thought the Styrofoam way looks way harder more complicated. :) and it would be easier to do the real rocks.

I was lucky when I built a lot of my waterfalls because the pet store I worked...

Re: How do you make a rock waterfall?

I've never made one like you have pictured (I think the above reply answers that anyway) another alternative is to use real rock.

I have made several for Mudskipper tanks.

    If you have a pool...
