    Re: Crickets dying

Thanks for for the reply, sorry it took so long for me to see it.

I'm assuming that the baby food I have been feeding would supply the water since it's just puréed fruits and veggies with water...

    Crickets dying

The first couple of batches of crickets I bought lasted for a few weeks until they were all eaten. Then I bought 500 small crickets and within 5 days they were all dead. I thought it was just a fluke...

Re: Best place to get crickets?

My crickets are eating very well! We bought a ton of baby food awhile back but the baby has decided he only wants "real" food. So now the crickets have shallow lids full of different fruit and veggie...

Re: Best place to get crickets?

Thanks, that's what I've been reading. Funny story... I did end up ordering crickets online. I assumed that it'd be a box within a box...nope! My kids learned some interesting new words when I opened...

Re: Best place to get crickets?

    Thanks. I agree.

I read several care websites and forums posts before deciding of fire bellies. Every place I looked listed their diets as being "crickets, mealworms, wax worms, earth worms,...

Not really into jewelry. I did try sewing once but I sucked at it. I think I'll stick with the frogs, thanks.

Re: Best place to get crickets?

I kept 2 bearded dragons for a short time that I rescued and one of the reasons that I ended up finding them a new home was because I just couldn't do the roaches. I thought I could but it bothered...

    Best place to get crickets?

I bought a container of crickets Friday for my new fire bellies and of course they are already gone. We live 30 minutes from the closest pet store. Does anyone order them online? Any recommendations?

Re: A few questions about my new FBTs

There's not really. I have a wooden hide cave thing but it took up so much space that I didn't use it. They can hide under the fake plants and behind the driftwood but they haven't really. I wonder...

Re: A few questions about my new FBTs

Thank you! I hope they like it. They were in a tank with a small water dish and several other frogs so hopefully they look at it as an improvement. They are nearly always in the water.

Re: A few questions about my new FBTs

Thanks! I've been wondering a filter. I'd like something to keep the water fresher but at the same time it's small in there so I'm worried about bothering the frogs with too much movement.

Re: A few questions about my new FBTs

Yes, that's exactly it! I was scared to hold them too tightly but they kept slipping right out of my hand.
I will definitely be leaving them in when I'm just changing the water.

    I actually tried...

Ignore the water stains! I scrubbed them with vinegar but couldn't get them completely off. I also need to get some sort of background to make it look better.

Thank you so much. You're always helpful. :)

I did end up redoing it this morning. The water was just getting too dirty looking and made me nervous. I put more gravel in to raise it up some more...

Re: A few questions about my new FBTs

One more question I thought of... When you clean your tank do you take the frogs out and move them? Doesn't that stress them out? I was hoping to just kind of work around them. It seems stressful to...

A few questions about my new FBTs

What causes them to change colors? At the pet store one was olive green and one was dark, almost black. By the time we put them in the tank at home they were bright green.

I was in a hurry to get...

    Re: Found frog in pool

I'm definitely not going to be keepin them and raising them. Lol. As much as I'd love to watch them grow, we are total froggy beginners and just brought home out very first pet frogs yesterday. :)

    Lava rock?

We are putting together a tank for some fire bellies and I found some really nice black lava rock that we kept from a aquarium past. Would it be acceptable to use with the frogs or too abrasive?
