I wouldn't use forest dirt for your soil it could introduce a lot of unwanted pests and bugs into your vivarium.

There are several good places in Canada to get dart frogs. Importing them yourself usually involves a lot of paper work.
The only thing I have found wrong when using coffee filters is sometimes as they get wet they can slump to the bottom of the container reducing the surface area.
