How are you keeping your tank up to temp

What are you keeping in the tank? In my gray tree frog tank, I have a 50 watt blue daylight lamp and that is plenty. They are in a 35 gallon hex tank. My toads and spring peepers are both in a 10 gallon tank, a 25 watt lamp seems to work just fine for them. In the winter, if they get too chilled (we live in an old drafty house) I will use an under tank heater on the side. I might hibernate them too...haven't fully decided yet.

I have a kritter keeper not sure how many gallons it is and I have a pacman in it I also have a 10g tank so move him to once he gets bigger here what his current setup looks like

One thing I did for our hermit crab tank, but I imagine it would work for a frog, is put paper over the top of the tank. All those little vents are nice, but they let out all of the heat. I just used a plain sheet of paper. The air can still circulate out the vents that are on the sides of the top, but it helps conserve some of the heat. It made a big difference in temperature for our crabs.

Depending on where you live, you could probably just put him near a window during the day for now and use a red-light bulb at night if the temps start dropping too low. I'm in the south, and the day/night time temps in my house are fine for him during the summer with no light. I have saran wrap over about two thirds of the tank top. It helps with heat and also keeps the humidity up as well.

Like DVirginiana said, saranwrapping part of the lid is a good way to keep heat and moisture inside the tank. Make sure you leave about 1/3 open though, so that you still get air circulation. The tempature and airflow of whatever room he is in will effect the tank's temp too. If the room is drafty or the tank is right by an air vent, you may have trouble with the tempature.
