Estivation period/hibernation

They will do it eventually on there own, a female of mine went under for 3 months last year

Do they just stop eating before they do this?

Mine ate a mouse and then it went down and didnt come up for 3 months. They usually eat then go under and wake up with a hefty appetite. If your worried when its under just move the dirty and check if its breathing every so ofter, you should be fine

Grif went from really active and chasing crickets to eat rather than waiting for them to not eating all of a sudden. He hasn't went into a deep sleep. That was like 13 days ago. We took him to the vet and he doesn't have chytrid but the vet wasn't sure why he stopped. They gave me a booster vitamin supplement to give him everyday and worm medicine and antibiotics once a week. He still hasn't eaten and I'm going to have to take him back monday. Just wanted to see if maybe that's why he hasn't eaten but he lost weight so probably not. Thanks though.

My male went down he didnt eat noting but they say that if your pac goes down were year ithink they will live longer

ah great guys, just noticed this thread! cheers! I was beginning to get concerned as, like Griff, I wasn't sure if household frogs in tanks went into sleep mode like in the wild! great thanks, panic over!!
