    Default Playing with your frog

I was wondering how often you guys messed with your frog either playing with it or for what ever reason. I never mess with mine but only to feed and clean. I'd kind of liek to check the frog out a bit more and look at it etc. I just don't want to make him ill. Any suggestions or comments?

About once a month I pick up each one and check him out. Just making sure every thing looks okay. They've gotten use to me doing it and they don't freak out anymore.I don't actually take them out of the cage just pick them up off a leaf. They probably think I'm a branch. I look at them from all angles and then gently set them back on a leaf. So no...I'm not playing with them just checking them out. No offense to anyone but they are here for my enjoyment. Hands are thoroughly washed and then sprayed with frog safe water.

I always wear gloves before handling any frogs. And only handle them during cleaning, giving weekly soak, need to feed in different enclosure, or for the occasional photoshoot.

Do you use any specific gloves? I know some come w/o powder etc and what exactly do you soak them in as far as temp and kind of water?

    Lol

I love photograhpy and amphibians and could be taking pictures more often but do try to limit to mostly during tank cleaning.

Not sure how frogs skin will react to the powders so I used the none powder. As for soaking l just soak them in warm dechlorinated waters.

Like eel noob I use nitrile gloves constantly. Even when cleaning their bowls and everything else. I'm also a photo junky and totally ripped off his light box technique lol.

I recently soaked my frog and I think it's a good idea to do because he pooped and he shed when he was soaking.

As far as temps, I used luke warm water in a container, then I placed him in it for about 40 minutes. He shed then he pooped. He actually pooped a massive turd then when I got him out, he pooped again. It seems to be pretty common when you move the frog though that the frog poops.

I hadn't seem him poop in like 2 months every since I fed him the mouse and I started worrying about him, so glad I did it, gonna start doing it monthly and see how it goes.
