    Talking Mycena's Photoshoot 8/17/12

I took some photos of my green Caatinga tonight. She is a voracious eater and is growing fast. She is about a month old. Enjoy!

The last picture (not my photo) is of Mycena lux-coeli, a type of green glowing mushroom. She is named after it because she is so bright, she seems to glow! :-D

That is a beautiful caatinga. I'm trying to buy one currently and I hope it has coloring like that.

LOL! Come on now, how can you say no to that face? All that brightness?? We all know it's a matter of "when" not "if." You are absolutely going to end up with some Caatingas! Just not my beautiful babies; they aren't going Anywhere! ;-D

But sooner or later some little Caatingas are going to hop their way into your home!

Awesome looking Caatinga, Grif! Wow, my next pac was going to be an ornata, but I think I may switch to Caatinga. Either way, it's one definitely on my list. I love this little frog! Thanks for sharing a few pics and can't wait to see some more in the coming months.

I meant to ask about Mycena's nose in my earlier post and forgot. Is that bump or ridge on the nose a characteristic of Caatingas or is that something specific to Mycena? I really like it, gives her character!

That is a Caatinga trait. They have a different skull shape than other species. The Auritas do have a similar slope to their faces. There is also a slight difference in the male and female facial structure. Mike could probably give you more info since he breeds them.

It would be cheaper to take a trip to Japan, buy one there, and then smuggle one back with you than to order one. $300 For the baby frog and then $700 shipping.

Please note that I do not encourage the smuggling of the species back nor do I intend to do so, but it would be nice Lol!!

Yep, but Frog Ranch is whole sale so they only sell to breeders and stores. Price is $300 for just babies.
