Oh boo. I drove all the way to Petsmart and they didn't have any, or any worms for that matter. Guess I will try again tomorrow at Petco!

Nugget looks awesomeI might try nightcrawlers cuz crickets are kinda getting on my nerves. Can't you get nightcrawlers from the sporting/fishing section of walmart? Are the quality of those any different?

Thank you!
Yea I heard you can get them there, too. I was actually going to try tomorrow after work since there is a Walmart down the street from my office. I thought someone on this forum had mentioned they were good quality- I hope I am not remembering something wrong now. Maybe someone can post to the quality of the worms from Walmart?
So I got some nightcrawlers. They are way skinnier than I thought, will 5 pieces be enough? Also if anyone knows, can you get the dirt off if them by rinsing them?
Nugget seemed to be okay with the nightcrawlers, or he may have just been hungry. He ate three pieces. He had the fourth in his mouth at one point but spit it out. He still isn't too keen on tong feeding, so I'm not sure how well this is going to go. It took me almost an hour to just get him to eat the three pieces, while he usually eats dinner in 10-15 minutes.
Well that's good to hear. I'm going to try more worms again tonight.![]()
That's good to hear. If they are a little longer than an inch it won't hurt. You could probably give him pieces almost 2 inches, but just not as many. I will warn you. The next time he poops it will have a powerful odor. Worms make their poop smeel bad Lol!atleast you'll know he did though.

either an adult male or an adolescent female. I hope this helps.
i love your grumpy froggy!! My Geralds grumpy too, and seems to frown at me sometimes!
Your feeding rotines sound good so far, I tell you what helps me loads is a plain calender which i write down mealtimes. Example on one day he'l have "crickets x3" 10.30am and "mealworm x2" 11am. This way i don't overfeed him too much, and i know what sort of variety he's getting every few days. The calender is stuck on my fridge.
It is also a great help as I know when i can transfer some good specimens into the gutloading container ready for his next feed!!
I'm pretty sure he's a male Ornate because in one of the pictures he has a darkish speckled throat. Though I'm not sure...! I would cry if Gerald was a Geraldine!!
One Horned PacMan called Gerald. Buuurrrppp!!
That's a good feeding schedule Hornedfairy. Don't cry if you have a female. Females get really big and are just as much fun to own as males even though they don't call. I have a pair and love them both. Dark spots on their throat isn't always a sure sign of a male. Not to burst your bubble. Ornates tend to have a lot of spots even if female. So that's. Why its not accurate. In Cranwellis it can be a decent indicator, but alass still not right all the time. Loki my male does have the dark spots all over his throat and they haven't faded at all. Grif had them all the way from baby to juvinile and after she started becoming and older juvinile they faded and are almost gone.
So basically the only true indicators are either nuptual pads when the frog reaches sexul maturity or if your little froggy starts calling.![]()
Thank you! I actually have been looking into a calendar- somewhat for feedings like you do, but also to keep track of when I give him calcium and his multivitamin (though its usually the same days each week). I think its an awesome idea, thanks for letting me know it works for you.![]()
