This is a discussion on How old is my frog :S within the Pacman Frogs forums, part of the Frogs & Toads category; I've had my pacman for about 6 or 7 months. When I got her she was about 2 inches long ...
I've had my pacman for about 6 or 7 months. When I got her she was about 2 inches long and has grown about 1/2 an inch since (her size does fluxuate quite a bit though, sometimes when she's full she's REALLY fat). Anyways, I have no idea how old she was when I got her. I feed her pretty much every other day (and she'll eagerly eat around 6 crickets each time) and I'm wondering if I should start feeding her only once a week. I've been told you should only feed very young pacs every other day.
Does anyone know how to determine a pacmans age?
My pac is about 2 and 1/2 inches long. I've always assumed she is a female because she has never croaked but if she is a male then she would be almost her full adult size (right? haha). She was never very colorful as some young pacmans are - she's mostly brown but has really neat lime green stripes on her head - and her coloring has never changed since i've had her. I can upload a picture if that might help but I only have a camera phone and it won't be that great, haha. But yeah! If anyone can help me determine the age of my pacman I'd be greatful!
Almost impossible to tell a frogs age by size. Sometimes animals at petstores will remain at same size for months on end, due to improper setup and lack of food.
You can't tell cause you don't know the frogs history. All i know is ,they can get to 6 inches.
So, pretty much just feed her as much as she'll eat, regardless of age?
I almost forgot that I have almost 4 inch male C. Cranwelli that is a glutton. He will eat and eat every night so I limit how much I feed him each night. He is about 8 months old, but not quite there yet. He's quite a character. Well actually him and the baby Green C. Cranwelli both are. I've had Grif (the male) since the end of febuary and he was the size of a fifty cent piece when I got him.
The females are usually the ones that make it up to 6 inches. Check it's front feet for Nuptual Pads. If it's a male, they should be there if it's over 8 months old. If you need a picture of what they look like, just say so, I have some.
