Here is a link to a picture of the lights I'm using for my tanks at night, they give off the perfect amount of heat and a pretty purplish light.

80 in the night is definitely too high though...the temp should be in the low 70s at night if I'm not mistaken. I'm glad you think he's doing well, but I would definitely down grade to a smaller wattage bulb if you can, or maybe raise the lamp up a bit away from the top of the tank to cool it off? 80 at night really isn't a good idea. And no problem, I'm always willing to help. Feel free to drop me a line if you ever have a question, if I can answer it I'll try to be quick.

Heya, you have a Red Eyed Tree Frog right? Do you have a temperature and humidity gauge in the viv with him? If so, a night time temperature of around 72-75 degrees is ideal for Red Eyes. 75 watts does sound a little high for a smaller viv, I use one 26 watt Night Glo (Exo Terra) bulb in my 11 gallon vert for my Tiger Legs, which are very similar to Red Eyes in size and body shape. I would recommend this over an infrared just because it gives off less heat, and the light is not as intense as a red bulb.

    Hope this helps!
