    Hi skeet,
No, not paper towel. I use to use paper towels ( but it was becoming very $$)
It is fleece fabric. I have been using since the middle of the summer. It's cut to fit the bottom. I change it every 3 days. When I have a bunch I put it through the washer and dryer ( w/out soap of course /hot water). It is very inexpensive. I just purchased another 1 yd pc. at a fabric remnant store. It was 2.80 cents. ( that's 4 pc. as I use it only on one side that is 18"x18" ) The crickets do not eat it. ( I actually put a small pc in the cricket bin and tested their desire for it) After cutting it I pre wash and dry it twice before using it. ( to remove dyes) You could even purchase a fleece blanket. If you have trouble find it - let me know I would be happy to get some from my fabric joint and send it to you.

My first experiment for a fabric bottom was bamboo quilt batting. BUT the crickets munched on it.

    Lynn
