Haha, I know right, it's so funny!!
That would be a good idea to attend school where you have relatives; it has its advantages . For now I'm going to attend the local university for a few years then go overseas (since I haven’t ever been out of North America haha )

So here is a link to my album on photobucket. It's mostly of moose and scenery, but there is other nature in there.....

Haha, yup ! I know...they are so cute and then when you go near them, they're ready to prick you lol.
That would be fun! Canada is one the top 3 places I would like to attend college. Have you decided on which part you might want to go? Haha, moms! ;P
Neat, I think I've been there once, but I wouldn't remember because I was like 4 hehe.

I'll give you some links to some of pictures here....if not today, I'll try at it tomorrow . I have to go get ready for my brother's knife making club/class......

Yes, lots of wildlife....in addition to moose, we see rabbits, fox, grouse, ptarmigan, wood frogs , porcupines, and shrews. Perhaps we see more moose than anything, which makes a lot sense as we live on a hill called Moose Mtn. haha! Oh and we have a spectacular view of the Alaska Range! I can show you some pics if you'd like .
I'm sure she did! Which part of Canada did she visit?

I didn't think of that, I'll build the pond on a table I have so it's aimed at tree frogs only! Thanks for the tip! - I haven't seen cane toads back since I started removing them, but you're right about the Marshies.

At this moment we have marsh tadpoles of ALL sizes, from tiny 1mm ones to the big ones 6~7cm (tale included) that are almost ready to leave the pond... It's so interesting to see how they grow at different paces, being in the same pond and from the same spawn...

Thanks! Yes, I became a photo freak now... taking photos of all things frog all the time! hahaha

    Haha, yes it is! Cool!
Oh you are not being rude in anyway....you can ask as many questions as you like ! Yup, we see lots of moose. Here are some pics of some moose we saw a awhile ago http://www.frogforum.net/off-topic/1...g-moose-d.html . We don't really see a lot a bears, like we do moose though. We see more black bears than we do grizzles, probably because we live in a populated area. You can get great viewing of grizzlies in Denali National Park or in Kodiak, AK.

    Neat !
    Haha, that's funny!
That's not the coldest it gets hehe.....in December (the coldest month of the year) temps get down to -50F! brrrr lol! I don't think I'd be able to survive Australia's boiling temps (even though I want to study there). In the summer, it doesn't really get that hot. It's usually 75F, but ranges from 65-90F. I think it reached 100F once, but it's really rare.

There are more albums about our frogs there too My son has been asking my to build a second pond for a while now but we have been concentrating on building the the tank, so I guess probably this week we'll put a second one (pond I mean). I hope the dainties come!

Loving it here in Noosa! It's a different life really. We couldn't be happier with the change we made

Regarding the pond, I read in many places that you can go the fancy way if you're thinking about decoration, but for the frogs, they don't really care about aesthetics, so a basic water container is enough for them to come and breed

So, as we are renting, I went the 'simple' way and bought a $18 dollars container from kmart.

    Something like this one

and then filled up with plants from the pond that is around the corner...(just 4 little plants spread out really quick)

That was all I needed and it only took a week for them to come (maybe I was lucky!) ;-)

Ah, beautiful lizards! My sister wants snakes, Corn snakes or Pythons. What type of snake would you want?
Haha, so cute! Names and the naming process are one of the fun parts in keeping frogs! Thanks !
Oh my lord that is insanely hot....104 ° Fahrenheit!! Here it’s like -8° Fahrenheit. There is snow everywhere here is Alaska lol. We usually have snow 7 months of the year in the area I live, which is the interior. Our annual snowfall is 52 inches, though this year we got a bit more than that....about 60 inches. The Alaskan coast receives 200+ inches of annual snowfall....I miss living by the ocean lol.
    Haha !

Hey Kristen, my user over there is Nano07.

We just moved from Sydney so this is our first summer here. Every time it rains I can hear the marshies calling from the pond, so we went several times to check and always found 2 males and one female. The next morning we had eggs there (3 times so far)... so we have tadpoles of every size! The last ones are 2mm (3 days old).

The dainty comes only after a big rain, usually one of those heavy rains that go for more than 1hr - that usually creates 'instant' lagoons that they seem to like.

We also have three natural ponds around the house (no more than 200 meters away). We hear littoria fallax calling every single night too! I hope they would come to our pond too eventually.

Maybe you're right and the dainties are afraid of the marshies, so I'm thinking of building another pond in the other corner of the backyard to see what happens
