I have two CRT's and recently one of them has gotten a black growth on his foot i asked others and got this reply: "trapped shed skin, wound leading to infection, bumblefoot (not sure if this only occurs in caudata), skin infection" i was hoping you confirm or deny it i have picture in my album of the sick toad. Also i was hoping you knew how to properly determine sex of the toads more than just the female is bigger. Thanks Dakota

That's not a growth, it's the enlarged thumb of a male toad. Those black areas are used to give grip when grasping a female in amplexus.
