    hi i am tuppence, from the uk. my hubby went to our local rep shop today when he returned he informed me when we go back on sunday we will be picking up yet another addition to our ever growing animal family, he has bought a bull frog.
    we spend all our spare time there, volonteering as i am disabled i find the reptile commuity very friendly, and the more time i spend there, the more i learn and the more people ask me questions in stead of talking down to me . but frogs are new to me so thats why i am here, to learn so all help will be gratefully recieved

    yes it is an african pixie thingy i am sorry i am no good with them latin names, my hubby has 4 spiders, he knows the latin for them, to me they are red knees, green bottle blue, salmon pink and sunburst i think these latin names are a man thing !

    my viv is3 foot wide by 2 by 2 it is on top of my gecko viv with the heat from that will that be enough? and will i need uv?

    i think my measurements are right, 3 foot long by 2 foot tall and 2 foot back to front

    Pyxies do alright in temperatures from about 22 degrees C (about 70 F) to the mid 30s C (early 90s F). However if it does get down to the low 20s C at night, make sure it rises into at least the late-ish 20s during the day. I've kept them cooler than this with no ill effects (and they still ate). Regarding UV, good news - they don't need it (in fact almost no amphibians need a UV light - don't let anyone cod you into thinking otherwise).

    thankyou for the welcome, and all the info we broughthim/ her home today i have called him bertie but on closer inspection he might be a bertha!! ahh well he`s so cute whatever
    he ate 4 locusts as soon as he came home, so i do`nt think we have to worry about his appetite!!
