    Unhappy Lost white's frogs

    Hello everyone!

    Joining brand new from PA, USA.....I am a recent admirer and owner of white's tree frogs.

    Unfortunately, last night I somehow had 2 escape....not sure how that happened as I thought I was pretty meticulous in their care. I've been searching the rooms of my house;

    I am so upset over this...any suggestions how to find them? would they hide up high or down low? I've been crawling on my hands and knees all over the house. It is a one floor home...I don't know how much distance they can travel and how long they will last.

    Please hope I find my new babies. any suggestions so greatly appreciated. I am heart-sick.

    First off, are you positive they are out of the enclosure? Have you searched it thoroughly? Do you have any other pets that if they did escape might try to eat them? I would think if they are outside of their enclosure they might gravitate toward the sunlight or somewhere it is warmer in the house. Just a guess. Good luck, I hope you have a happy ending to this story!

    Hi there and welcome to the forum. There was another situation like this a while back and a suggestion was to put dishes of water out. Then check them in the evening when the frogs are more active. But like hyla suggests be sure that they are not hiding in their enclosure. Good luck

    You've received good advice so far - just be sure they are not hiding in the terrarium.

    Yes, I had taken everything out of the vivarium except the rock waterfall. I even lifted the fake rock mound off of the base and no frogs...oh my!!

    Later in the evening, after thoroughly searching the house on hands knees,,,i go back in their room and I think I see a frog disappear into the base of the rock waterfall.....I blinked a couple times; saw my 3rd frog was still where he was all day,....so, I once again lift up the rock mound portion and a frog jumps down!!!!! OMG! I turn the formation upside down---and there up in the peak is my other missing frog!!! LMAO!! LOL

    they are quite the little hiders I must say...gave me such a rush. I was almost crying.

    thanks for all your advice and care!!!
