Cricket Frog - North Carolina They only live about 12 months, and since their life span is so short I would put it outside to reproduce.
This is a discussion on Southern Cricket Frog within the Frogs forums, part of the Frogs & Toads category; I was opening the door to my crawlspace when I saw something hop to the side, when I checked it ...
I was opening the door to my crawlspace when I saw something hop to the side, when I checked it out I saw it was a little frog. I caught and brought it in and found it to be a Southern Cricket Frog. I want to know if this species of frog is aquatic, it's right small, not quite an inch I'd say and what type of environment/set up it needs. Right now it's in a 10 gallon with coco fibers, an ash tray with water as the water source and it has some sticks in the cage as it seems to be rather cage-climby (do Southern Cricket Frogs do this normally?)? Also, what do they eat, obviously the crickets I have are as big as the frog although I can do some digging and find some smaller

My Cricket Frog survived the capture (I cupper him in my hands and carried him inside), he survived the night and he was alive and well when I left for work. When I got home to meet the AC repairman he was fine. I cleaned the glass of the cage and he was fine, then I refilled the water dish and left. When I returned he was on his back floating in the water ?? He was of good weight, ate last night, active last night and this morning. I'm at a loss as to what happened to him, I was going to set him free today because he is much too small. Thank you for replying Kueluck.
