Who knows, but it is good he didn't eat them. Crickets, dusted a few times a week with calcium should keep your frog happy.
Read this thread too about feeding them using a bowl.... it works great.

American green tree frog Okay so i bough Blaze some crickets..... And he loves them. You guys were right about getting 2-3 week old crickets as to Blaze is only 2 to 3 inchs big.... And he gobled them down like nothing. Can a frog sence when something is wrong with there food?.... I found worms outside and apperantly there was oil on them but Blaze didn't eat any of them.... Is it possible he knew there was something not normal with them?
