-- So last night after I picked up my new acquisition from a craigslist deal, I had a strange suspicion that my tank might be slightly bigger than 40 gallons. After doing some math, turns out it's 50 gallons. This prompted me to reconsider my other tank, the one I bought labeled as a used 30 gallon.

Turns out my 30 is actually a 20. So all-in-all I had a net gain of 0 gallons.

Anyway, the knowledge that my 40 is a 50 turned me off from the idea of trying to convert that one immediately. Instead, I'm going to return my attention to filling in the 20 gallon.

This log will mark my progress.

...

Doin a bit more research this morning, got a P.O.A.

I'm going to attempt the foam/driftwood/wood chip background. Partly for pure aesthetics, partly because I want to practice it, and also to give any vines the potential to latch on to something arboreal. If I can figure a way to incorporate food and water dishes into the woody back ground that would be ideal

Pothos and Snake-Plant are going to be my bread and butter for this project... At this point in time I'm planning on doing a false bottom with that absorbative spherical substrate underneat (can't remember what it's called right now)... Mesh screen on top of that and then some potting soil and possibly sphagnum on top of that. I'm guessing all of that stuff will take up about 4 inches.

Next I'm going to plant that tank, Snake plants as ground cover towards the front, Pothos in the back corner. I'll slowly build up my habitat support systems, ensure that the it's a stable and habitable environment for White's, and then acquire my Hylids.

Feels good to have a plan... I'll try to include pictures to keep track of my progress.
