    Default Sick Pyxie? Please Help!

I have been suspicious of my male pyxie having parasites for the last week. I thought his runny stool was from getting water in his mouth while feeding in his water dish, but tonight when I went in to turn his light off he looked skinny in his water dish, and when I tried to pick him up he didn't even puff up and barely fought to get out of my hands. I am so scared because I love him so much. I need some advice on what to do ASAP!

Would you be able to post pictures? It sounds like you will have to get him to the vet-if you have one in your area who deal with amphibians-ASAP.

Yes! Go to the vet now. I can recommend Winter Park Vet off Lee Road for reptiles.

Don't wait to see if he does better.

    Good luck.

Consistently runny stool is usually a sign of disease or parasites, so yes, get to the vet. Runny stool is not caused by the frog being in water or getting water in his mouth.

Thanks all for helping me so fast! To my relief this morning, my male pooped in his water dish and it was solid.

I would still get him to a vet and checked out. Better to be safe than sorry, especially since parasites can be treated. Best of luck.
